Contact Lenses:

Contact Lenses in the clear segment or Color segment are getting very popular.

Contact Lens are of Different types, like

RGP (Rigid Gas Permeable), Soft Contact Lenses, Rose –K contact lenses, Scleral Contact Lenses, Prosthetic Contact Lenses, Reverse Geometry Lenses.

The most common type commercially available contact lenses are Soft Contact Lenses and can be broadly classified as

1. Yearly : are not very popular, due to its minimum usage of 8hrs.
2. Monthly disposables are the commonly used contact lenses and can be further classified into Hydrogel and Silicon Hydrogel materials.
   Hydrogels have more water content are comfortable initially however cannot be used for more than 12 hrs and cause dryness to the eye.
   Silicon Hydrogel contact lenses are more healthy for the eye as they transfer 5 times more oxygen to the eye, they can be used for longer hour and tend to cause lesser dry eye.
   A small nap can also be taken with these contact lenses.
3. Daily Disposables are the most comfortable in the segment, these can be used for one full day, they are mostly used occasionally while travelling, outing to the beach or even used on a regular basis for daily use.
   They are extremely hygienic and healthy for the eye and the ultimate choice for our eyes.
